KITCHEN BACKSPLASH IDEAS WITH MAPLE CABINETS
when designing a kitchen for your new home,we start with the focal point, and then keep the rest of it simple. this current kitchen, we decided to make ourisland the focal point. you can see that because we have a stained-basecabinet. that's a big contrast against the white-paintedcabinets behind me. another thing that we did was we added granitein this house. some people find that granite is too busy,so there is a huge trend in using quartz countertops. they're more contemporary, but they're veryconsistent. these days everyone is into the reclaimedlook and feel of a house, so what we did is
mimic that in our backsplash. we have some handmade tiles that have irregularedges. also, we need durability. we need some good floors for this busy family, dogs running around, and spills of water. so in this kitchen, instead of using actualwood, we have used tile that is made to look like wood. but be sure when you select your grout color, make it match the wood floors.
