KITCHEN BACKSPLASH IDEAS WITH DARK CABINETS
i love this kitchen. it's one of my very favorites. one of the reasons is because it really demonstratesthe latest in kitchen design and trends right now. one of the big trends is silestone countertops,and the reason is, granite countertops really have been around for a long time, very beautiful,but they have a tendency to have a lot of movement, look very traditional, be kind ofin the golds and darker colors. so because gray is the new beige and so popularright now, the silestone comes in whites and all different colors, and works much betterwith a transitional or contemporary modern
look. also, the cabinets are painted black. they're not stained. and we have really wonderful glass tile belowand above the cabinets to the ceiling in a really pretty gray color. gray is the new beige. and notice how, with the lighting above andbelow the cabinets, it all sparkles. and then, we've accented the area above thecooktop with a pretty, linear mosaic in glass as well.
and then, the cabinets on each side of thecooktop have the glass doors, so that that's lit, bright, you can add accessories, dishes,and it additionally accessorizes the kitchen. and finally, above the cabinets, we've gottenrid of all the old baskets and ivies, and we've put larger, fewer vignetted sort ofareas with nice big accessories, so we're actually accessorizing with fewer, cleaner,brighter pieces above the cabinet, and it all comes together. the kitchen is one of the most important roomsof the house. it's part of the main living area, so thekitchen needs to be as pretty as the rest of the home.
